GRADUATION INFORMATION

Graduation Ceremony:
· Virtual / In Person Graduation – Taping on May 26, 27, and 28th in the Dick Van Dyke Auditorium at DHS.  Students will come ten at a time in 30 minute increments in their cap and gowns. Names will be announced and graduates will walk across the stage to receive their diploma.  A picture will be taken and then they will continue out of building to their cars. Graduates will be allowed to invite 2 Adults/Parents/Guardians. Use of Videographer and Photographer with presentation of diplomas, videos, pictures taken.  Video will be available on the the website and facebook on June 13, 2020. If students did not order a cap and gown they need to do so by 4:00p.m. tonight.

Graduation Activities for Seniors:

· Senior Yard Sign

· Viking Prize Patrol (May 21-22) – staff and administration will deliver scholarship recipients their award with balloons at home using the decorated DHS van.

· Shine on Seniors (May 22, 8:00P-8:20P) – football field and every front porch light lit to honor seniors. All parents and community are asked to turn on their porch lights during this time of celebration for the Class of 2020.

· Swag Bag Parade (May 24, 2-5P) – cars will drive through (similar to food distribution) and administration will hand graduates swag bag as they pass the high school along the circle drive. The street will be lined with staff practicing social distancing.  Senior Swag Bags include T-shirt, DHS Blanket, DHS Cup, Yearbook, DHS Newspaper. During this time all graduates should return their textbooks, chromebooks, and calculators to be dropped off at the field house during parade.

· Vermilion Street Display of Seniors (June 12) – Seniors will send in a senior picture and a yard sign will be made of each graduating senior with their picture on it to be displayed prior to drive in graduation ceremony. If no picture is submitted, the graduates yearbook photo will be used.  Students and their parents may opt-out by submitting a request in writing to Ms. Cherry by Friday, May 29, 2020 at cherryt@danville118.org.

· Senior Social Event (TBD) – picnic or event to celebrate seniors and where they could sign yearbooks.

Other Future Events for Class of 2020:

· Homecoming 2020 (Fall 2020) - Celebrate class of 2020 during the start of the football game

· Prom 2021 – Invite the class of 2020 to participate for free at the 2021 Prom
