STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

On Saturday, December 2nd the Cadet's from Danville Army JROTC Drill team traveled to Ozark, MO to compete in the 15th Annual Tiger Classic in Ozark, MO. Through hard work, and dedication, they finished the competition in 5th place among other JROTC programs from 3 competing states (MO.,KS. and Oklahoma). The team is Commanded by Cadet Kennedy Kruger; with the following members. The Cadets next competition is scheduled for 16 December at Waynesville HS, Ft Leonard Wood, MO.

SENIORS – Jostens will be back on Thursday December 14 for those Seniors who did not place their Graduation Orders (Cap & Gowns / Announcements / etc.)   This will be the last chance for Early Grads to place their order.   The Jostens Rep will be located in the cafeteria by the elevator during all four lunch periods.
Next KEY CLUB meeting will be Dec. 13.  Bring a drink for the Christmas party.
All FCA members need to stop by Ms. Robinson's room #147 to pick up information about the Christmas party and December volunteering. Everyone is invited to the annual FCA Christmas party.  December 11th from 6:30pm to 8pm in the little theater.  Come hungry and bring a wrapped gift for $3 or less for a silly gift exchange!
At our next science club meeting on Wednesday, December 13th, we will be exploring the science of making pizza. Our meeting will be from approximately 3-4:30 pm in room 129.
Any girl interested in playing soccer this spring should attend an informational meeting in the little theater on December 14th from 3 to 3:30pm.
There is still time to register for the Costa Rica trip! Please see Mrs. Long in Room 337 for more details. The price will increase on December 15th, so now is the time to sign up! This is going to be a fun trip full of adventure...join us!
Students who want to take the ACT test will now have to register online at www.act.org.   ACT is no longer providing registration packets to high schools.  Fee waivers can be picked up in Room 317 (New Tech Office) for eligible students.  The next test date is Saturday, February 10th.  Registration deadline is Friday, January 12th.

NIGHT OWL CLASSES:  Students that need to make up credits for English and/or Government, you will have the opportunity to make that happen beginning Monday, February 5th.  Mrs. Cline will offer an English class and Mr. Overstreet will offer a Government class.  Both classes will begin Monday, February 5th.  Classes will meet Monday through Thursday from 3:05 to 4:20 pm (1 ¼ hours).  Classes will NOT meet on early release Wednesdays.  Approximate completion date of classes is May 17th.  Students MUST complete 60 student hours; therefore, ONLY four absences are allowed for the entire night owl session.  If a fifth absence occurs, the student will be dropped from the class with no credit given.

A MINIMUM OF 15 STUDENTS IS REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR EACH CLASS TO BEGIN.


Weekly Scholarship Spotlight:
Seniors--are you planning on pursuing your post-secondary education at Eastern Illinois University? Have you been a leader and a role model within our community? If so EIU's new scholarship opportunity, the Community Ambassador Scholarship is for is for YOU! This one-time $2.000 scholarship requires a one-page personal essay addressing how your role as a leader has impacted your peers and/or how you would continue your leadership role as a student at EIU. There are NO GPA or test score requirements! Eleven incoming Eastern students will be chosen to receive this scholarship--will YOU be one??

Attention early graduates!  Autozone is accepting applications for part-time and full-time employment.  If you are interested in applying, submit a resume to Mrs. Kuchenbrod, Room 213 ASAP.  Autozone will be onsite for interviews in December.

ATTENTION Early Graduates – Are you entering the workforce?  If so, stop by and visit Mrs. Kuchenbrod to discuss career opportunities.  Many local companies are hiring with some entry level jobs starting between $14 and $16. Hr. with full benefits.
