STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS
DHS is hosting a blood drive on Thurs, Oct 26th from 7:30-2:30 in the gym. Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with a signed parent permission slip. You can sign up to donate in the DHS library or in room 228 (Ms. Seibert-Brown).
Local History Club will be touring Springhill Cemetery Tuesday, October 17.  Meet after school in Mr. Houpt's room.
Hispanic Leadership Council Meeting will Thursday, October 19th from 3 to 4 in room 126. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Juarez in room 232
Library Club
Library Club will meet Thursday, October 19th from 3:00-4:30.
DHS students:  The ARMY will be here tomorrow, Wednesday, October 13 8th hour in the Little Theatre to speak with anyone that may be interested.  Please stop by the Guidance Office if you would like a pass to see them!!!  Hear about all the great opportunities the ARMY has to offer!

Attention Seniors – The Human Resources Construction Council and Build Your Future are now accepting applications for the 2017 HRCC Scholarship.  The scholarship is open to anyone planning to attend or currently attending a technical school or approved craft training program.  Scholarship is $500/year and can be renewed annually.

To access the online application Log on to your career cruising account to access the scholarship application, stop by the guidance counselor office, or go to www.nccer.org to apply.

Hey Juniors, are you prepared for the upcoming PSAT and SAT????  Seniors, do you need some review for when you retake that SAT from last year???  Now’s your chance!  Starting next week, we will be having Khan Academy/Test Prep sessions during VIP.  Use this VIP time wisely and increase those test scores!!  Those of you hoping to qualify for National Merit Scholarships, time is of the essence...all juniors will be taking this qualifying test October 11.  Anyone is welcome!  Please sign up with Mrs. Campbell in the Guidance Office!

Danville Dashers is offering searching for a broadcast/media relations intern for the 2017-2018 season.  This is an opportunity for students to expand their knowledge in a professional sports setting while networking with others in a similar field  This is a PAID internship.

Danville Dashers is also offering a community relations internship.  This internship will focus on the day-to-day activities both on game days and during the regular work week.  This is an unpaid internship.

Danville Dashers is also offering a digital and social media intern.  This person needs to be comfortable creating marketing materials for Danville Dashers.com and all social media.  This is unpaid internship.

Interested in attending Tour of Industries on October 21, but do not have transportation?  Stop by the Guidance Counselor office to sign up for free transportation.  The event is open to the public!  Take advantage of this annual opportunity to go behind the scenes of 8 major employers.  See the products produced locally.  Meet the amazing people and discover the various careers.  Examine the high-tech equipment used to manufacture the products.  Deadline to sign up is Thursday, October 19th.
