The Elks National Foundation Legacy Awards
Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of Elks members. The Foundation will offer a total of 300 awards in the 2018 contest, an increase of 50 awards. The Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship
Students from throughout the State of Illinois who wish to attend any post-secondary school or an accredited vocational or technical training school and who have maintained at least a "C" grade average may apply for the Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship. Applications are available online at https://ioof-il.org/forms/ & must be received to the Lincoln Grand Lodge Office by March 1, 2018

Kara L. Boyer Memorial Scholarship
The Kara L. Boyer Memorial Scholarship was established in 2016 to provide financial assistance to individuals that are planning on furthering their education at a community college or university. This scholarship is only available to a Danville High School Senior. Applicants must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA; must have been accepted to a college or university for fall 2018; must have been involved in extra-curricular activities; must have completed a minimum of 5 hours of volunteer service. Applications are due to the Kara L. Boyer Memorial Scholarship committee by March 2, 2018.

Eastern Illinois University: Community Ambassador Scholarship
Eastern Illinois University bound individuals from select counties in the central Illinois region will be among the latest to reap financial benefit from supportive local business men & women. No less than eleven local students will receive the one-time $2,000 EIU Community Ambassador Scholarship. Prospective recipients: must be a high school senior due to graduate in Spring 2018 who has been admitted to EIU; must complete the online application form & submit a personal statement/essay; must submit at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, principal, supervisor or mentor. Application materials are due by March 15, 2018 & can be accessed on https://www.eiu.edu/ambassador-scholarship/.

Red Mask Players, Inc. Jean Lewis Scholarship
The Red Mask Players, Inc. will be presenting the Jean Lewis Scholarship award this year to a local high school, or college, student who has expressed an interest in the pursuit of the performing arts while in college. Students who are planning to pursue a field of study directly related to the theater are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be asked to audition before the committee on April 25, 2018. Frank Hill Memorial Scholarship
Students applying for the Frank Hill Memorial Scholarship must be in the upper third of their class, must exhibit financial need, must have participated in extracurricular activities and community services, and must attend Danville Area Community College in the Fall of 2018. Applications must be received by April 6, 2018.

Helen Nash Memorial Scholarship
Applicants of the Helen Nash Memorial Scholarship must be in the upper half of their class, must exhibit financial need, and must have participated in extracurricular activities and community service. Application deadline is April 6, 2018.

Jean Medaris Memorial Scholarship
The Jean Medaris Scholarship was established to aid students in continuing their education. Senior applicants should rank in the upper half of their class, participate in extracurricular activities, participate in service activities, and plan to enroll at an accredited college or university. April 6, 2018 is the deadline for submitting applications.

Irena Maris Memorial Scholarship
Potential recipients of the Irena Maris Memorial Scholarship must be in the upper half of their class, must exhibit financial need, must have been active in extracurricular activities and community services, and must be attending a 4 year college or university in the Fall of 2018. A male and a female applicant will be chosen for the $2000 award. 
Applications are due to your counselor by April 6, 2018.

Kiwanis Noon Scholarship
The Kiwanis Noon Scholarship gives three DHS students each a $300 scholarship toward furthering their education. Applicants must be in the upper half of their class, and must have participated in extracurricular activities and community service. 
Application deadline is April 6, 2018.

The Jack Millikin Scholarship Award
The Jack Millikin Award is a $500 scholarship available to two students who meet the qualifying criteria: must be in the upper half of his/her graduating class; must have been active in extracurricular activities and community service. 
Due date for applications is April 6, 2018.

Williford Woodard Memorial Scholarship
Students applying for the Williford Woodard Memorial Scholarship must be in the upper half of their graduating class, must exhibit financial need, and must have participated in extracurricular activities and community service throughout their high school career. Applications are due April 6, 2018.

Jonathan Wallace Memorial Scholarship
The Jonathan Wallace Memorial Scholarship was established to financially assist a student who is physically handicapped in his/her pursuit of higher education. Students must also be in the upper half of their class and have been involved in extracurricular activities throughout his/her high school career. Applications must be received by April 6, 2018. 

Adam D. Wagner Memorial Scholarship
The Adam D. Wagner Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to one DHS Senior who has participated in soccer or who is pursuing a major in criminal justice. The five criteria used to select the scholarship recipient are: academic standing (above average grades), an essay of up to 750 words (the topic of which is detailed on the application), letters of recommendation, school activities, and sportsmanship. Application materials are due by April 6, 2018.

The Robert & Suzanne (Seybold) Zimmerman Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for a student entering a career in Applied or Practical Arts, such as carpentry, woodworking, drafting, machinist, beautician, secretary, medical assistant, music, arts, etc. Applications are due by April 6, 2018.

Debbie Wright Memorial Fund Award
The Debbie Wright Memorial Scholarship was established to aid a student who is pursuing a bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois in a medical related field. The recipient must demonstrate an excitement for learning and show financial need. 
Applications must be submitted by April 6, 2018.

Dick Van Dyke Scholarship
The Dick Van Dyke Scholarship was established to aid students in continuing their education. Applicants should rank in the upper half of their class, be good citizens, have participated in extracurricular activities especially in the performing arts (band, chorus, orchestra, show choir, dance, or drama), and intend to enroll in an accredited college or university. 
Deadline for applications is April 6, 2018.

John Stevenson Athletic/Academic Scholarship
John Stevenson was an outstanding athlete and student at Danville High School who graduated with the class of 1955. John was well liked and admired by his classmates and was considered a class leader. He was a member of the Honor Society and was on the Honor Roll every semester. He was also awarded nine varsity letters in baseball, basketball, and cross country. Applicants must have played a varsity sport for at least two years, must have at least a 3.0 GPA, have had no discipline problems in school or within the community, and have participated in other non-academic school supported activities. 
Applications must be received by April 6, 2018. 

Art & Virginia Mathisen Memorial Principal's Scholarship
The Art & Virginia Mathisen Scholarship two recipients are selected by the current Danville High School Principal. Qualifications necessary to apply for this scholarship are: students must be in the upper third of their graduating class; must have participated in extracurricular activities while in high school; must have good citizenship. 
Applications are due by April 6, 2018.

Helen Conover Memorial Foreign Language Scholarship
The Helen Conover Memorial Scholarship was established to aid Seniors in continuing their education. Applicants should have at least a B average, be currently taking at least their sixth semester of a foreign language, be good citizens, have participated in extracurricular activities, and intend to enroll in an accredited college or university. 
Deadline for applications is April 6,. 2018.

Danville High School P.E.O. Chapter HX Scholarship
The Chapter HX P.E.O. Scholarship is offering a $250 scholarship opportunity to a student of their choosing. This scholarship will be awarded to one graduating female who has demonstrated excellence in academics and good citizenship, as well as participated in extracurricular activities and/or community service. 
April 6, 2018 is the deadline for application submissions.

Richard Roberts Scholarship
The Richard Roberts Scholarship was established in 2005 to assist students who have either been involved in music programs throughout their time at Danville High School or students who plan on continuing their education in the area of music. 
Applications are due to room 213 by April 6, 2018.

Gary C. & Phyllis J. Rogers Fellowship Scholarship
The Gary C. & Phyllis J. Rogers Fellowship award was established to aid students in continuing their education. Senior applicants should be in the upper third of their graduating class OR have a 3.0 or above GPA, be involved in extracurricular activities/community service, demonstrate financial need, and plan to enroll in an accredited college or university. Included with this application must be: photo of student, current transcript, essay (details of essay outlined on application), and two letters of recommendation. Application and supporting materials are due by April 6, 2018.

The Sarah A. Carey Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is a one-time non-renewable $500 scholarship awarded to a graduating senior, upon proof of enrollment to an accredited college or university. Scholarship applicants must submit application and supporting materials to your counselor or to the e-mail or street address listed on the application by ​March 16, 2018.

Christie Foundation Health Profession Scholarship
The Christie Foundation's Health Profession Scholarship Program assists in funding area students interested in serving the health care needs of Central Illinois. Applicants for a Christie Foundation Scholarship must meet these criteria:
*Enrolled in full-time, or entering, an approved health profession program at the associate, bachelor, or graduate level.
*Have graduated from high school, or have been a resident for at least 5 years, in one of the following counties in Illinois--Champaign, DeWitt, Douglas, Ford, Iroquois, Moultrie, Piatt, Vermilion.
*GPA must be a 3.0 out of a 4.0.
*ACT score must be a 20 or above; SAT score must be 890 or above.
*Demonstrated work &/or volunteer experience in the health professions.
*Personal qualities, as evidenced in essay responses & references.

Athnet Sports Recruiting Scholarship
The Athnet Sports Recruiting Scholarship is a $1000 scholarship available to future college students who play or have played sports at the high school level. Graduating seniors are eligible to apply if they will be attending college in 2018-2019. Application instructions are available at https://www.athleticscholarships.net/scholarship-contest.htmApplication deadline is June 1, 2018.

Lori Lyons Special Education Scholarship
The Danville Chapter of AMBUCS will offer 2-$1,000 scholarships to Seniors graduating from the Danville and Vermilion County area who are pursuing a degree in the field of Special Education. These scholarships will be renewable for 4 years. Applications are due by March 31, 2018.

The Vermilion County Bar Association
The Vermilion County Bar Association is accepting applications for one of its $500 scholarship grants to be awarded in May 2018. Two such grants will be awarded. To be eligible, an applicant must be a resident of Vermilion County, seeking assistance in an undergraduate or law degree program. Applicants must have earned a 3.0 (out of 4.0) GPA, be supported by a letter of recommendation by a teacher or instructor of the applicant and submit a personal, one paragraph statement with his/her request that indicates the student's community involvement and why he/she believes that he/she would be a good recipient of the scholarship. The application request & supporting documents should be sent to the Vermilion County Bar Association c/o Jerry Davis, Chairman, Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 344, Danville, Illinois 61834-0344. 
Applications will be reviewed no later than April 1, 2018.

Andrews-Brumett Scholarship
This $1000 scholarship ($500 each for 2 years) is available to a 2018 high school graduate living in or going to high school in Vermilion County that will be attending Danville Area Community College. Applications are available in the Guidance Office or online at www.vcfb.info and are due by March 15, 2018.

Balloon Association of Greater Illinois Scholarships
The members of BAGI are pleased to sponsor $500 scholarships to students majoring in agriculture or an agriculture-related program. The scholarships, which are non-renewable, will be awarded on the basis of exceptional scholastic ability and/or financial need. Vermilion County Farm Bureau will administer the BAGI Scholarships. For further details please go to www.bagiballoon.org or to the Guidance Office for a hard copy of the application. 
Deadline for applications is March 15, 2018.

Nanette Finkle Scholarship
The Nanette Finkle Scholarship will be awarded to a female DHS 2018 graduating senior who has demonstrated leadership in her schoolwork & extracurricular activities. 
Applications are due by April 6. 2018.

Illinois Sheriffs' Association Scholarship
In 1979, the ISA established a scholarship program for college-bound students. Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000 are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic, extra-curricular and character qualifications. Each Illinois county awards at least one $500 scholarship each school year. The scholarship program is open to Illinois students attending an Illinois higher learning institution. 
Applications must be mailed to the Vermilion County Sheriff's Office to be received by March 15, 2018.

Mark Denman Scholarship
The Mark Denman Scholarship of $500 will be awarded annually to a graduating senior planning to attend college who has demonstrated excellence in academics and good citizenship as well as active participation in extra-curricular activities.
Applications are due April 6, 2018.

Wayne & Marjorie Denman Scholarship
The Wayne & Marjorie Denman Memorial Scholarship was established to aid students in continuing their education. Applicants should rank in the upper half of their class, be good citizens, have participated in extracurricular activities, and intend to enroll in an accredited college or university in the field of teacher education.
Applications must be submitted by April 6. 2018. 

The Paul Brumaghim Memorial Scholarship
NAIFA-ECI (National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors-East Central Illinois) is made up of Insurance & Financial Advisors from Champaign, Vermilion, Edgar, Douglas & Piatt counties. The Paul Brumaghim Memorial Scholarship is named for longtime Shelter Agent Paul Brumaghim from Danville. Paul was a tireless supporter of NAIFA & was a mentor to many in this field. NAIFA-ECI awards two $500 scholarships every year to deserving high school seniors who plan to major in Insurance, Finance, Business, or some other field related to the Financial Services Industry in college. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 30th and can be received via regular mail, dropped off at Mark Stutsman's COUNTRY Financial office at 301 S. Gilbert St, Danville, IL 61832 or via e-mail.

Business Women of Vermilion County
The Business Women of Vermilion County will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships this year to female high school graduates of Vermilion County. This award is given to further advance young women's education in business & professional careers, a purpose of the organization. The $1,000 scholarship will be given to the college of the recipient's choice prior to fall registration. In order to be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria: must be accepted as a first year student at a two or four year college; must be in the upper third of her graduating class; should be in need of financial aid. Applications and additional required materials must be received no later than Saturday, April 7, 2018.

Lakeview College of Nursing Next Generation of Caring Scholarship
A $1.000 scholarship for Lakeview College of Nursing (LCN) Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Program will be awarded to an applicant of their choosing who meets the following criteria: must be a Vermilion County High School Senior who plans to attend the Lakeview College of Nursing Danville campus; must be ranked in top half (50% or better) of high school class; must be capable of meeting the Lakeview College of Nursing admission criteria and plans to enter LCN's program without RN licensure. Applications MUST be received at the following address no later than March 1, 2018; Lakeview College of Nursing, Next Generation of Caring Scholarship, 903 N. Logan Ave, Danville, IL 61832. 

The Township Officials of Illinois Scholarship
Each year, since 1989, the Township Officials of Illinois Scholarship Fund has awarded funds to graduating high school seniors to continue their education at Illinois colleges/universities. To be eligible for consideration you must meet all of the following criteria: 
*must be a graduating Illinois high school senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
*must be a US citizen and resident of Illinois.
*must plan to attend a university/college in Illinois.
*must have a history of extracurricular activities that demonstrate a willingness to accept leadership responsibilities, or a commitment to civic responsibiklity, social consciousness and a willingness to serve the community.
*must submit a 500-word essay on The Role of Township Government in Today's Society and in the Future that will include information gained from an interview with an elected township official.
*must submit two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, local officials, or business people.
*must submit an official high school transcript.
*must submit a cover letter and completed application form.
*must plan to enroll at an Illinois school as a full-time undergraduate student.
Completed applications & supporting materials must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2018.

Vermilion County Retired Teachers Association
Four scholarships of $750 each will be given to high school seniors who plan to attend college & plan to pursue a career in teaching. The complete application and required attachments must be submitted by March 30, 2018 to Patricia Woods, 1650 N. Vermilion St, Danville, IL 61832.
