NHS 2017 membership

All documentation of hours is due to Mr. Golish no later than May 1, 2020. Remember:
Returning NHS members must complete TWENTY-FIVE hours of community service between May 1, 2019 and April 30, 2020.
NHS members inducted in October 2018 are responsible for completing TEN hours of community service between September 5, 2019 and April 30, 2020.

Congratulations to the following students on being selected to join the DHS NHS!! The Induction Ceremony will be at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in the Dick Van Dyke Auditorium.

 Joining the Danville High School chapter of the National Honor Society

The 2019-2020 application window is now open. Follow the link to complete the application.

All DHS students entering grades 10, 11, and 12 who have attended DHS for at least one semester with cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 are eligible to apply for membership in the DHS NHS. 
A minimum of FIVE (5) hours of community service are required to apply. Students must write an essay in response to a specific prompt. 
DHS faculty members are asked to give feedback on the applicants prior to final selection. The five-member faculty council reviews all applications and essays and selects the inductees. Any students not selected for membership are encouraged to see Ms. Golish for feedback and are welcome to apply for membership the following year.

The application window for membership is June 1 - October 31. For more information about joining NHS, please see Mr. Golish, in room 330, email, or call 217.444.1568.

OSF Festival of Trees - General Volunteers
Hundreds of volunteers are needed to make the Festival of Trees a success.  If you can spare a few hours of your time, we would really appreciate your help!  
Volunteer shifts : 
+ Most are 3-hour increments

+ Volunteer as little or as much as you want

OSF Festival of Trees - Elementary School Tours
28 Volunteers are needed to lead elementary school tours on Wednesday, November 20 from 8A-11:30A.  Please print and complete the permission slip and return to Mr. Golish (330) ASAP.  Selection of volunteers will be based on the order slips are returned to Mr. Golish and seniority.
